River crossing at what appears to be Angeles Forest. Fred, Thomas Kendall (TK), and a third person named Cecil. The event or the crossing was nicknamed “Cecil’s Submarine.”
Fred’s Land Rover went through the river with Fred standing up through the roof — this wasn’t Kung San, though Kung San was along on the trip. Cecil had a Land Cruiser fitted with a snorkel and exhaust stack for deep water wading. Fred didn’t know Cecil well — but Cecil’s vehicle was built for exactly this.
