Lawrence Quiroz and someone whose name I’ve forgotten got a flat tire out in the Baja. Lawrence beat the rim back into shape with a sledgehammer, then re-seated the tire using propane. Boom.

That was Lawrence — you could call him from 100 miles from pavement and he’d stop whatever he was doing and come get you.
