Hospice nurse. Burner. The one who cares most deeply.

She makes her living sitting with dying people and their families — the job where care can’t be performed. That’s the frame for everything.

Part of the Escondido Burner community: Greg and Barb's place, Pu’uhonua, Joshua Tree trips. Into purple in a way that goes deeper than I can explain. Married to Chris, who is a woodworker and has a house in Mexico. Daughter Vicky has Turner’s Syndrome.

“Sally cares more deeply about others than most people I know.”

We touch very regularly — lots of hugs, head touches, hand holding. Chris knows and doesn’t get jealous. She hosts cookie parties in December. She called me in January 2025 to hear about Phil’s death and how life was going.

She’s skilled at fire poi and teaches others. At Joshua Tree in 2026 she had them along; Dylan played with them and loved it.
