Swam a mile yesterday, still feeling good about it but decided to eat instead of swim today. I really should be doing three days a week, the lunch meeting on Monday killed my schedule. But I’m feeling good.
Still a bit disappointed that every time I walk the dog more than a mile or so my calves start to hurt. I haven’t had the gout lately, though it feels like it’s hiding in there somewhere, ready to leap out.
By June I was sharing a lane with Linda, the hardcore workout woman from work, who I’ve sort of recruited to help motivate me. Went for a swim this morning, so at least I accomplished something.
I did 24 laps the other day. I should be able to go every other day — although actually I could probably manage once a day, if I really got my ass in gear and found a good time for it. Which would start taking off the poundage.
The last day of 2010 I swam at Tri-City Wellness Center. Nice place, but I actually like the city pool better — lanes are a little wider, and there are a lot more of them. I wore my new speedo, which I thought was too small on my fat legs, but once I’m in the pool it isn’t bad.
Got five years now to train for the Ironman 50+ division.
