Fred's rolled-and-caged truck, photographed next to Lawrence's Land Rover — both vehicles on borrowed time.
The “Strange Over” — a truck Fred had rolled and had fitted with a roll cage. On the way back from Denver to LA it threw a piston through the bottom of the engine. Fred had it towed, took the Greyhound, but went by way of Portland to make a surprise visit to Britt.
(Later photo: Fred’s Strange Over on the left — just before it blew up. Lawrence Quiroz’s Land Rover IIA 88" on the right — just before, or just after, he rolled it on slickrock near Canyonlands, Utah.)
