Age 12

When Dylan was twelve, he still carried Stick Fluffy with him wherever he went. Stick Fluffy was originally a cat toy. When the cats passed away and their things were being given away, Dylan dug Stick Fluffy out of the giveaway pile and kept her. The name says what it looks like. There was a whole box of other toys too: Raccoon and the rest. He brought them along wherever he went. Stick Fluffy was the one he actually wanted with him.

He was getting taller. His hair still grew only in patches. He loved dancing, especially to KPOP Demon Hunters, which he would dance to with full commitment.

Every day, Papa asked him the same questions: How was school? What was for lunch? What are you singing? Who were your friends? A lot of the time Dylan would answer. Sometimes he’d tilt his head and say β€œPapa!” in that particular tone that means the question was too silly to take seriously. At night he still wanted a story before bed, and he liked it better when Papa read it out loud.
