Bombay Cafe, Escondido. Rated ★★★★☆
I’ve been going to Bombay Cafe for a long time. Lucky — whose full name is Lachmir — always knows not only your name but how long it’s been since you were last there.
“You haven’t been here in six weeks and three days. How come you never come to my buffet?”
I like the vindaloo, hot, and the aloo gobi. Good naan. The place has a tandoor oven, but otherwise the decor is forgettable.
I always feel slightly guilty when I go, which means I haven’t been going often enough.
