Bully’s East Prime Bistro, San Diego.

When I have an evening to myself, I like to sit at the “Low Bar” — a big round table at the end of the bar where you can drink and dine. It’s more social than a regular table and it’s fine to sit there by yourself and chat up the other losers.

As a protein devotee I like the prime rib — some of the best I’ve had in town, though I’m a cheapskate and don’t go to fancy places that often — and the side asparagus (extra charge). Creamy horseradish, loaded on. Beer on the side because I’m not having carbs otherwise.
