Fred is worried about Gramp, who is old and ill, and keeps thinking he should make the drive up to visit.

I need to visit Gramp. And I guess maybe I should do that this weekend, trying to think what else I have to do. No, that’d probably be a good idea. I hope he doesn’t kill himself — by stopping his dialysis I suppose — but I don’t really think there’s all that much I could do about it. But I would like to see him again.

I’m on my way up to Santa Barbara; I wanted to see Gramp. I got it into my head that I wanted to go to Outback and get some steak but it was too crowded and I ended up here.

I’m feeling very tired at the moment. I’m also feeling lonely and frustrated with everything.

I suppose I should get in to work sometime. I really should have taken this weekend to go up to see Gramp, won’t be able to do that again soon and he may not be there all that long. I know Gram is functionally gone.
