Major expenditures today. Aside from the obvious new camera, also broke down and got the 20GB iPod, which I haven’t even opened yet. I guess I want to prolong the excitement. And a new keyboard and mouse for the iBook. I’ll be working for a while to pay off all these new toys.

Am considering leaving the iBook at home — just set email to work from the Mac at work, and use the iPod when necessary to take stuff back and forth.

Stopped at a shop in Solana Beach that sells kitesurfing equipment. Showed them my Trailmate recumbent, may get to go on a kiting lesson sometime.

I guess I’ll have mixed feelings if a new iPod comes out from Apple in a couple of months that has PDA capabilities — I think that’s what they’d do rather than call it a PDA: put in video viewing, or something.

The next day I was feeling a bit depressed. Could be post-purchase depression, or maybe just the usual I-have-no-life kicking in.

August 2002. The 20GB iPod was the third iPod generation.
