Cybertel offices, San Diego.
Got another ten minutes to run the latest (and greatest?) Cybertel bill. So I might as well take some notes here.
Hope this set of bills is fairly without problems — I’m doing the costing now, then I need to move previous due amounts, then calculate everything including taxes, then incorporate payments before I can even start printing bills.
876 — about 100 pages left. I’ll print the other sides 200 at a time. Leaves more margin for error but fewer pages to have to fix if an error occurs.
Have I mentioned this keyboard is fan-damned-tastic? Almost makes me too lazy to use graffiti.
600 customer invoices (pre-cull). Are they gaining more than they’re losing? One of these days it may jump up to the tens of thousands — hope I’m not the one stuck here printing when it does.
The back pages print REALLY SLOW. I think I’m sitting on a few pages per minute with about 470 pages to go. And they’ve only got one printer here so people keep stopping by to chat and wait.
Slow, slow, quick quick slow. Someday my prints will come.
So I’m told that fn-O is naught — that looks like ∅, which I tend to use for zero. Still printing. Rocky’s still eating.
Finally I’m printing the last 45 or so pages. What a long horrible drag. And just to annoy me it’s going to go really, really slowly.
The billing system was one he’d written himself. “Someday my prints will come” appears in the journal twice.
