Home, watching TV.
Of course it works pretty much as advertised. May try using this for a while to see how I like it. I notice there is a lag in display but I suppose it would be tolerable. Too bad the same or similar keyboard doesn’t work with the Newton. Pick it up, fold it up and go.
Starting now, I’ve got journals spread across paper, Newton, Mac, and now Palm. I’m sitting here watching a movie — Dances With Wolves if you must know — so I thought I might as well play with this new toy.
It’s really not too bad, with its own stand and everything. I think I could use it on an airplane, probably could use it to take notes in a meeting. It’s quiet and fairly nondistracting. Could I stand using it in a restaurant to do my journal? Somehow I still prefer the Newton. If I’m going to be a nerd I’d rather be a complete nerd using a discontinued esoteric platform rather than a palmtop, neh? But I am fairly comfortable writing here.
But frankly this keyboard rocks. It even feels more accurate than the Newt.
No home or end keys. One would think those might be more useful than the app-specific keys. Strange — it works separated, too. Pick it up and go.
I reached the end of a note — not sure how many characters but there is a limit. “A man’s got to know his limitations.”
Just a freaking engineering masterpiece. I am so hoping that Apple comes up with something to replace this palmtop. Something to replace the empty spaces in my head.
Fred had four journaling devices going simultaneously at this point.
