Soot Bull Jip, Koreatown, Los Angeles. Rated β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

I have dreams about this place. The meat, the meat. And the kimchee. We had a group supper here, about a dozen of us around a big table, and we had several kinds of barbecue, all of which were amazing, though I think the kalbi ribs were the best. And the bulgogi was the best. And the kimchee and other pickles were the best. Maybe I had too much beer, maybe I just ended up in a protein delirium, maybe I inhaled too much barbecue smoke. The staff was courteous, didn’t seem to speak much English but we gringos got our orders right and they were inobtrusive, swooping in to scissor and adjust the grill and get us more beer now and then.
