A dead-simple fruit cobbler baked in a cast iron skillet — “You’re gonna thank me later!” Melt butter in the hot pan, pour in a one-cup-each batter, drop in whatever fruit you like, and don’t stir. Serve with ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • Fruit of your choice (blueberries and peaches work great)
  • Ice cream, to serve

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F with the cast iron skillet inside. Add a stick of butter to melt in the pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the milk, sugar, and self-rising flour together.
  3. When the pan is preheated and the butter is melted, pour in the batter, then scatter your fruit on top. Don’t stir it.
  4. Return to the oven and bake for 45 minutes.
  5. Serve with ice cream. OMG.
