Café Beignet, Decatur Street, New Orleans.
Have had a fairly relaxing day, once I got off the plane. Got about four hours’ sleep, then a couple hours on the plane.
Woman behind the counter is coughing — probably another case of walking Ebola. And of course I’m getting powdered sugar all over myself.
Later. Crescent City Brewery.
So I’ve had just about enough fun for tonight. Saw an interesting surrealist artist who caught my eye because there were a lot of naked women in his paintings — though the two I liked best were not. One, “The Hunger,” was an emaciated woman with elongated features and silverware for teeth. The other, “Andy” (or “Handy Andy”), was a child with a head replaced by a hand, surrounded by tools.
Almost would like to own that one, but at $4,300 a bit hard to justify. Perhaps if I were an independently wealthy software developer.
These are more delicate little oysters than the ones I had the other night, but they’re a fine little protein burst.
