Am I really back to using the Newton for a journal and a datebook/address book? Well, maybe I am. So I would be schlepping around the keyboard and case and everything instead of the Palm; I know I like using it a lot more.
Newton, Land Rover — what other beautiful anachronisms? Buddhism?
I should be going to sleep right now but I’m not really tired.

Compared to this Newton I’m sure there’s a lot that a VAIO could do for just slightly smaller and some $2500 with accessories. So I suppose I should save my money and wait for something new to come out.
This saves as I go along — why the fuck don’t the usual computers? In fact, most computers should really be designed a lot like this Newton. What a crying, pitiful shame. Even if the batteries go dead it doesn’t lost its mind; and the software all talks to itself (tho not perfectly).

Starting now, I’ve got journals spread across paper, Newton, Mac, and now Palm. I’m sitting here watching a movie (Dances With Wolves if you must know) so I thought I might as well play with this new toy.
It’s really not too bad; with its own stand and everything. I think I could use it on an airplane, probably could use it to take notes in a meeting. It’s quiet. Could I stand using it in a restaurant to do my journal? Somehow I still prefer the Newton; if I’m going to be a nerd I’d rather be a complete nerd using a discontinued esoteric platform rather than a palmtop, neh?
But frankly this keyboard rocks. It even feels more accurate than the Newt.
Just a freaking engineering masterpiece. I am so hoping that Apple comes up with something to replace this palmtop. Something to replace the empty spaces in my head.
