Someone once asked me, if Gordon Ramsey showed up at my door and asked me to make dinner, what would I make him? Gordon, hope you like carne (and tiki drinks). This local market is close to home, and they are now my go to for thin sliced low fat carne asada, fresh tortillas, premade guac and salsa. I’ve had their chicharrones too, they were great. We have a lot of choices in local carne, and this one is just as good or better than the place by the freeway that’s always drawing me in with their grill smoke or the well known place in Esco in the questionable neighborhood or the local fancy market. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The meat is not pre marinated, they douse it when you order it, but I’ve found that sitting for an hour or so at room temp works well. Then onto the grill while I mix up some tiki drinks. Or a margarita, if Chef Ramsey insists.
