Between the Salton Sea and Anza-Borrego. 102 degrees, sweaty, grateful for air conditioning. Rated β β β ββ
Dropped in here between geeking around on the shore of the Salton Sea, and bumping down trails in Anza Borrego. 102 degrees out, we were sweaty and gritty, open the door to air conditioning and slabs of cool travertine marble. Felt a little underdressed, actually, though we were clad about like the barflies. We had hamburger, salad, and pork sandwich; all were quite decent. Bathroom was lovely. Waitress was there by herself and overwhelmed by three tables; but she still filled our sodas repeatedly. Might have been rated higher, but the shores of the Sea are covered with dead fish, and weβd been wandering around in the heat there for a while, so senses were dulled and just getting inside was enough to rate three stars.
