AT&T Carlsbad, iPhone 2.0 launch day. Fred waits two weeks and orders instead.

Got my iPhones here. The day the iPhone 2.0 came out there were about 100 people in line; not sure how many of them got to take home a phone. I ordered my phones instead, 2 weeks after release. Took a couple of days to get here — the very day my Verizon contract ran out.

Something was wrong with the data service on turn-on; they couldn’t figure it out (turns out it happens sometimes on carrier provisioning changes, wait a few, 12 in my case, hours and it works — found info on the Google, but it took a while to research).

Not included in the score (or it would be zero stars) is what I think about ATT service (that it generally sucks worse than Verizon) and customer support (just try to get a human to answer your question, that’s why the store is so busy with people asking WTF is up with my phone). “At least ATT has rollover minutes” is the apologist response — or as I like to think of them, bend-over minutes.
