WeirdStuff Warehouse, Sunnyvale — a Silicon Valley surplus-electronics institution that closed for good in 2018. Rated ★★★★☆
My memory of WeirdStuff was that they used to have a sign: Guaranteed to Not Work. If you take it home, and it works, bring it back and we’ll get you one that doesn’t work. It’s probably been 20 years since I was last here; the shop has moved, but it’s still the same as I remember. Probably because some of the same stuff is still on the shelves! It’s bigger and better organized than I recall. I wish they had just a bit more recent junk — nearly everything is 10+ years old. Didn’t buy anything — I was getting on a plane — but I’ll be back.
