Escondido. Fred is plotting his Burning Man logistics around the Cybertel chaos.

I’ve been walking some, about every other day the past few days. I get about 7,000 steps or three and a half miles out of the standard circuit. I need to get myself into shape for Burning Man. Still not sure what I’ll do for that; would rather take the Pinzgauer and camp on the way but I really don’t want to deal with any breakdowns so I’d like to take it for service first.
I’d really rather take a bit longer vacation, maybe a week and a half if I can manage it.

Yes, it looks like the last week of August is Burning Man. Wonder if I’ll have time to get the Pinz worked on by then. Wonder if I can tow the Pinz on a flat tow rig behind the Rover — or why the hell I would want to (would really rather drive it to Black Rock under its own power; maybe if I start driving it to work I’ll feel better about it).
I have yet to motivate to leave the house. Not sure quite what I’m going to do today but I guess I thought I could work on the database a little, then maybe buy and start building another plane or two. Because I can’t be bothered to do much anything else other than sit here journaling and watching reruns of cop shows on TV.
From an earlier spring entry (010429):
Leave the first part of August; drive to wherever it is in Colorado they’re having the Treffen. That’s about a week there, then between one and two weeks to get to Black Rock. Could even go up into northern California if I wanted to — see Rick and Helen? Then back, maybe spend a week and a half in the desert.
Thinking about how much I want to take the whole month: Me, someone who goes into work on Sunday knowing the company may be locked out of business on Tuesday by our vendor. I could really use a long drive in the desert.
